We leave our shuttle and walk into the terminal, using the WOW Air Self Check In, and dropping our bag. We then head to security and through to the departure lounge, before heading to the non-Schengen gates through passport control at the end of the terminal. Our aircraft arrives from its inbound flight from Berlin-Schonefeld, and it isn't long before we're boarding through the jetway. We push back from the terminal, making a departure from runway 10 before being cleared to climb straight to 29,000ft and heading across the North Atlantic. We enter a few patches of turbulence as we head on a track slightly west of usual, heading to the coast of Northern Ireland before crossing the Irish Sea to the Isle of Man. We enter the terminal and proceed to the WOW air check in area to drop our checked bag, before we head to Premium Security. Once we have cleared security we proceed to the No. 1 Lounge, which is busy on this Saturday morning. We enjoy a lovely breakfast with stunning views across the airport, before it is time to head to our gate. We make our way through the busy terminal and it isn't long before the aircraft is ready to boarding, and we make our way to board this brand new Airbus A321. We take our seat in seat 3A and the captain obtains our route clearance to Keflavik. However at almost the same time another airline, British Airways, suffer a system wide computer failure which has a knock on effect as pushback tugs are stuck on BA aircraft. We wait for almost an hour for a tug to become available, before finally a tug arrives and we are able to push back and get on our way. We taxi out to runway 26L at Gatwick, before departing to the west and making a right turn towards London. We get a great view of London below as we climb towards our cruising altitude of 36,000ft. We head towards the northwest of Scotland talking to London and Scottish control on ATC, before beginning our Atlantic crossing. We obtain our clearance from Shanwick to cross towards Iceland, and head out over the Atlantic. We make a couple of radio check ins with Shanwick and Reykjavik control, before eventually we are handed to Reykjavik domestic control who clear us for our descent towards Keflavik. We are initially cleared for an ILS approach to runway 19, however the captain requests an RNAV approach to runway 10 instead. We are given our vectors for the approach before contacting Keflavik Approach, and finally Keflavik Tower as we commence our final approach. We break through the clouds just as we cross the coastline, and touch down smoothly on runway 10 before taxying into the terminal. We disembark via the forward doors and walk through the terminal to baggage claim, emerging kerbside on a cold day in Keflavik. It was amazing :) Very beautiful places, high mountains, rivers, animals and birds! We will definitely be back. We took about 200 GB videos and all them are on our channel on youtube :) Alaska info: Alaska is a U.S. state situated in the northwest extremity of the Americas. The Canadian administrative divisions of British Columbia and Yukon border the state to the east; its most extreme western part is Attu Island; it has a maritime border with Russia to the west across the Bering Strait. To the north are the Chukchi and Beaufort seas–the southern parts of the Arctic Ocean. The Pacific Ocean lies to the south and southwest. Alaska is the largest state in the United States by area, the 3rd least populous and the least densely populated of the 50 United States. Approximately half of Alaska's residents (the total estimated at 738,432 by the U.S. Census Bureau in 2015) live within the Anchorage metropolitan area. Alaska's economy is dominated by the fishing, natural gas, and oil industries, resources which it has in abundance. Military bases and tourism are also a significant part of the economy.

Icelandair is the main airline of Iceland, headquartered at Reykjavík Airport in Reykjavík. It is part of the Icelandair Group and, during the summer of 2015, operated scheduled services to 39 cities in 16 countries on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean out of its hub at Keflavík International Airport. The geographical position of Iceland allows one-stop transatlantic flights, which are one pillar of the airline's business strategy, along with traffic to and from the country. Stopover Since the 1960s, Icelandair has offered passengers travelling on transatlantic flights between the North America and Europe a unique opportunity to stopover in Iceland for up to seven days, at no additional cost. In order to raise awareness about their stopover offer, the company launched a new social media initiative in 2014, with the hashtag #MyStopover. New order On February 13, 2013 Icelandair Group announced that the company had finalized an order with Boeing for sixteen new Boeing 737 MAX planes. Purchase rights for eight additional 737s had also been signed. The value for all sixteen aircraft was USD 1.6 billion at Boeing list prices, but actual purchase price was confidential. The planes will be delivered in 2018-2021. In a press release from Icelandair Group Björgólfur Jóhannsson, president and CEO of the company enthused: "We are pleased to announce that we have finalized agreements on firm orders for 737 MAX. This will further strengthen our business and increase our flexibility and capability for growth. The first aircraft is scheduled to be delivered in the first half of 2018 and the aircraft will be operated alongside with the Company’s current fleet of Boeing 757s." The order is for nine 737 MAX 8 airplanes for 153 passengers and seven 737 MAX 9 aircraft which hold 172 passengers. In comparison, Icelandair Group’s current Boeing 757-200 aircraft hold 183 passengers. Boeing 737 MAX is a new, improved and longer version of the present Boeing 737s. Fuel savings compared to Icelandair's present fleet of Boeing 757s are thought to be more than 20% per seat. The Boeing 757 is a mid-size, narrow-body twin-engine jet airliner that was designed and built by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It is the manufacturer's largest single-aisle passenger aircraft and was produced from 1981 to 2004. The twinjet has a two-crew member glass cockpit, turbofan engines, a conventional tail and, for reduced aerodynamic drag, a supercritical wing design. Intended to replace the smaller three-engine 727 on short and medium routes, the 757 can carry 200 to 295 passengers for a maximum of 3,150 to 4,100 nautical miles (5,830 to 7,590 km), depending on variant. The 757 was designed concurrently with a wide-body twinjet, the 767, and owing to shared features pilots can obtain a common type rating that allows them to operate both aircraft. The 757 was produced in two fuselage lengths. The original 757-200 entered service in 1983; the 757-200PF, a package freighter (PF) variant, and the 757-200M, a passenger-freighter combi model, debuted in the late 1980s. The stretched 757-300, the longest narrow-body twinjet ever produced, began service in 1999. Passenger 757-200s have been modified to special freighter (SF) specification for cargo use, while military derivatives include the C-32 transport, VIP carriers, and other multi-purpose aircraft. Private and government operators have also customized the 757 for research and transport roles. All 757s are powered by Rolls-Royce RB211 or Pratt & Whitney PW2000 series turbofans. Join Katharina and Benny from German Hahn Air during their delivery flight of a Citation Sovereign aircraft from Cessna's Wichita facilities to the airline's main base in Düsseldorf, Germany. This airplane is freshly refurbished and brand new to Hahn Air. Enjoy an exclusive Trans-Atlantic delivery flight in three episodes: Wichita - Goose Bay, Goose Bay - Reykjavik and Reykjavik - Düsseldorf. This is one of the three full-scale multi-cam "ULTIMATE COCKPIT MOVIES" coming up for these three flights. The Cessna Citation Sovereign (Cessna Model 680 Sovereign) is an American mid-size business jet developed by Cessna. It is currently the third largest member of the Citation product line in terms of take-off weight, with the Citation X and Citation Latitude having greater take-off weights. The Sovereign is considered a transcontinental aircraft with the capability to fly Los Angeles to Hawaii greater than 98% of the time, while complying with ETOPS requirements, and is used primarily for corporate travel. In the late 1990s, Cessna saw the need for a high-performance jet midway between the Excel/XLS size and the Citation X. The result was the Model 680 Citation Sovereign, powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306C turbofan engines with FADEC controls. It uses the Honeywell Primus Epic glass cockpit avionics suite, coupled with dual Honeywell FMZ2000 FMS units. Its claim to fame is that it can take off and land in short distances, thanks to a moderately swept high aspect ratio wing, and (when light) 92 knot Vref speed. It was first unveiled to the public in 1998 at the NBAA exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Sovereign seats eight passengers in a typical cabin configuration, with a maximum high-density capacity of 12, in addition to the crew of two. First flight of the Sovereign took place in February, 2002, with FAA certification awarded in June, 2004. Customer deliveries began later that year. EASA certification came in June 2014. Hahn Air Lines GmbH is a German airline based in Dreieich, Germany. The company offers scheduled and charter air services from Düsseldorf Airport, where its aircraft are based. The company`s main business, however, is an e-ticket platform that gives travel agencies access to airlines via computer reservation systems. The company also offers sales services for other airlines. Hahn Air has signed more than 260 contracts (interline agreements) with airlines.[Internationally, over 95,000 travel agencies access this system. Hahn Air is a wholly owned subsidiary of Saspo Holding GmbH, with its headquarters in Dreieich near Frankfurt. The company is owned by Hans Nolte and Nikolaus Gormsen. The company has offices in cities such as Amsterdam, Manila, Mexico City, and Paris. Hahn Air was founded as a domestic German airline in 1994. Its home base was the former Hahn US military air base (now Frankfurt-Hahn Airport), from which the company's name originates. In 1997, Hahn Air joined its first Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) in Germany. The airline has the 2 letter code HR and the invoice number (IATA prefix code) 169. Hahn Air flights have been sold via the Amadeus computer reservation system since 1999. That same year the first agreements were signed with airlines from Latin America, namely Aerolíneas Argentinas, Avianca, LAN Airlines and Varig, which formed the foundation for the ticketing platform. In 2001, Hahn Air became an IATA member and joined BSPs including France, the United Kingdom and Spain. Hahn Air also joined the Sabre, Galileo and Worldspan computer reservation systems. Further BSP memberships were concluded and, in 2003, the company’s headquarters moved from Hahn to Dreieich, near Frankfurt am Main. One year later, Hahn Air became a member of the Airlines Reporting Corporation in the US and is represented together with its partners in the Abacus computer reservation system. The company’s 100th interline agreement was also signed that year. In 2006, Hahn Air issued its first e-ticket and its first interline e-ticket on its computer reservation system. Hahn Air Systems was founded in order to offer airlines their own Computer Reservation Services (CRS). The Hahn Air (airline) operations went through IOSA certification for the first time in 2007, and entered the Japanese and Korean markets by connecting to the Axess, Infini and Topas reservation systems. Development since 2010: Due to a contract with Generali insurance in 2010, travel agents are able to offer e-tickets via Hahn Air (HR-169) that include insurance against the insolvency of the operating carrier. Since joining the Kosovo BSP in 2010, Hahn Air is present in all European markets.
